    Due to a valued team member moving cities, we have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our team based in Lower Hutt. This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful company where you will be working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and external Accountant to play a key role in the on-going success of the company.

    Day to day, your role will include, but is not limited to:
    • The overall responsibility and execution of all financial requirements for the business.
    • Processing and ensuring accurate payment of accounts on time.
    • Effectively using all financial systems and processes.
    • Processing fortnightly payroll.
    • Developing systems and evaluating and implementing automation where appropriate.
    • Reporting on all financial aspects of the business.
    • Confirmation and supervision of specific tasks completed by the Finance Administrator.
    • Maintaining and reporting on statistical information to assist the effect running of the business.
    The role of Assistant Accountant is fundamental to the day to day running of the business. The main purpose of this position is to assist the team with all things accounting. In your day you will be required to analyse and interpret data while working in a fast-moving finance environment, you will also need to have the confidence to challenge ideas and suggest and implement systems and processes to obtain efficiencies. Experience in the real estate field will be a distinct advantage.

    As the successful candidate you will need:
    • A minimum of 3-4 years' experience in a similar position.
    • An accounting tertiary qualification or studying towards one would be an advantage.
    • The ability to engage with numerous different financial systems. Particularly iPayroll, Xero and MYOB.
    • The ability to manage multiple priorities (and at time conflicting priorities) with a high level of success and maintain an organised approach.
    • The confidence to work autonomously and take responsibility for day to day issues.
